Safer Internet Centre in Latvia, Net-Safe Latvia project  is aimed at informing and educating children, adolescents, teachers and parents on the safety of Internet content, i.e. the potential threats on the Internet (incitement to hate, racism, child pornography and pedophilia, emotional harassment on the Internet, identity theft and data abuse).

Project allows the general public to report on crimes detected on the Internet at the website www.netsafe.lv or www.drossinternets.lv electronically. The reports are processed and, if appropriate, send for examination to the Cybercrime Prevention Department of the State Police. The project activities also include the Helpline 116111 (80006008) of the State Inspectorate for Protection of Children’s Rights.

Net-Safe Latvia projekts ir vērsts uz bērnu, jauniešu, skolotāju un vecāku informēšanu un izglītošanu interneta satura drošības jomā – par iespējamajiem draudiem internetā (naida kurināšana, rasisms, bērnu pornogrāfija un pedofilija, emocionāla pazemošana internetā, personas identitātes zagšana un datu ļaunprātīga izmantošana).

Projekts nodrošina iespēju sabiedrībai mājaslapā www.drossinternets.lv elektroniski ziņot par atklātajiem pārkāpumiem internetā. Ziņojumi tiek apstrādāti un vajadzības gadījumā nosūtīti izskatīšanai Valsts policijas Kibernoziegumu apkarošanas nodaļai. Projekta aktivitātēs ir iesaistīts arī Valsts bērnu tiesību aizsardzības inspekcijas uzticības tālrunis 116111 (80006008).

Projektu īsteno Latvijas Interneta asociācija un Valsts Bērnu tiesību aizsardzības inspekcija.
